Qi (氣) is energy, so energy flow is the circulation of qi. As it moves through the body, energy is always changing from one form to another. When it stagnates, the body cannot find its strength. When it begins to move, recovery begins.
Why Circulation Matters
The body’s recovery system can work properly only when qi circulates. Many things can block it. Strong emotions can do it, as can outside factors such as chemicals, weather, and food. I wrote more about why I see it this way in “Why Qi Again Exists.”
The result of a blockage looks different from one person to the next. For one person it appears in digestion, for another in pain or sleep, and for someone else in the skin. The place where it becomes visible may differ even when the underlying story is much the same.
How Do We Get It Moving Again?
It’s nothing grand or complicated. We restore the structure, care for what’s happening inside, and reduce the things that block the flow one by one. I look at the body in that order. I wrote more about the first step in “Why Structure Matters.” Circulation returns through daily habits, not through a single treatment.
In modern language, I think of qi circulation as the mitochondria in each cell beginning to produce energy again. A tired body finding its strength again is what moving qi looks like to me.
When qi begins to circulate again, the body moves toward recovery on its own. That is Qi Again.
