Skin symptoms are often a result. The cause may be somewhere else; the skin is simply where that result becomes visible.
That’s why I believe you can never truly heal the skin by looking only at the skin. It seems better, then it comes back, and then it comes back again.
Three Things I Always Consider in Treatment
First are the bones and the body’s structure. When something is wrong with the spine, the body cannot use its strength. From the top of the head to the tips of the toes, even a corn can drain that strength. The body has to be whole for the organs to function properly. The skin is an organ too, and only then can it return to normal. This is why I urge anyone whose skin condition is severe enough to keep them from sleeping to see a doctor or practitioner.
Second are the internal organs. When organ function, especially digestion, has broken down, the entire body becomes exhausted.
Third is the circulation of qi. When qi is blocked, the very strength the body needs for recovery cannot circulate.
If these three remain unchanged and we only soothe the surface, the condition returns. When the problems in these three areas begin to resolve, the skin often recovers better than people expect.
Why We Say “Recovery Beyond Skincare”
We didn’t choose “Recovery Beyond Skincare” simply because it sounds good. It means that what improves inside the body matters more than what we put on the skin. When the inside recovers, the skin naturally improves too.
Today this is often called beauty from within, and the conversation tends to stop at supplements. Supplements matter, but they are not the whole story. Spinal alignment and the health of the organs are part of the inside too, and they matter. The more severely someone is suffering, the more strongly I encourage them to see a medical doctor or an East Asian medicine practitioner who will look at what’s happening inside the body. I ask them to start with what is happening inside and with the pattern, not only with the result visible on the surface.
